North Bucks is truly a centre of innovation, according to the Milton Keynes Enterprise Hub which has just announced the latest developments at its business 'hatchery' space at the Open University.

Since opening, more than 25 entrepreneurs and companies have approached the Hub for support. Two companies have taken up residence at the OU while another four are working with Hub director Chris Dunkley to formulate their plans.

Those seeking support are said to reflect the diverse nature of the MK economy: from educational construction kits to drug delivery, encryption software to fresh organic juices delivered in innovative packaging.

Following the Enterprise Hub official launch in the summer, a number of other initiatives have begun: building of the incubation centre at Cranfield University, opening of an innovation centre at Bletchley Park and the planned Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Hub.

Dunkley says: “I think these initiatives indicate quite clearly that Milton Keynes and surrounding areas hold the key to innovation. I'm sure that the cumulative effect will encourage even more companies to look at establishing a base here from which to launch their businesses.”
